Fox sketch experiment

Description

Trying to figure out the confusing tools in SAI... I still don't quite understand how they work.

This didn't quite turn out the way I meant it to, but this is kind of the style I wanted to try doing for the sketch commissions I'm gonna open for. Not quite so dark and shaded as this, and not quite as thick of lines...but maybe you kind of get the idea.

I'll figure it out eventually. This was actually the working size, by the way.

While watching your artwork for quite some time, I still think your artwork is just as awesome as it comes! This goes the same for this sketch here, especially when you drew it on SAI! But I guess I couldn't help but critique, because I know how complicated it is to use SAI too. Trust me, I very crappy when drawing digitally; that's why I always stick with my trusty pencil.

Anyway, on to the criticism...

The vision here is great! The cleanliness of the drawing and simplicity of shades is what makes it easy to the eye.

The originality is still as great as ever, especially when you surprised me with this innocent fox of yours. I expected your awesome weasel character here smoking and such.

The technique is great, what with the style of the lines and shading, but what bothered me was the shading technique. Some of the blending seems to lack definition when it varies from a dark to light area. Otherwise, the simplicity again here is fantastic!

And lastly, the impact was great, but could've been better if not for the simple expression you put on him. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure you mentioned that you were looking for a style for your sketch commissions, so I don't think you should mind about that.

Now overall, all you need to worry about is the shading, y'know? You can check out some good SAI tutorials about that. It's helped me a lot with my work when I got SAI.

I look forward to more of your works, anyhow! Keep it up, you're doing great! And sorry if I have bad grammar. I'm not so great at it.
